NEW SAMSON IDS INJECTOR: A TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND AGRICULTURAL CHALLENGES
Faced with increasing environmental challenges and the need for more efficient and sustainable agriculture, SAMSON AGRO is unveiling its latest injection solution: the SAMSON IDS. This innovative slurry injector addresses both the demands of today’s farmers and current environmental requirements. Thanks to advanced technical solutions, it optimises fertilisation while minimising ecological impact. With the SAMSON IDS, SAMSON AGRO is redefining spreading standards, providing professionals with a precise, economical, and soil-friendly tool. This launch signifies a new development in modern agricultural practices.
The importance of injecting slurry for effective fertilisation
Slurry injection is now acknowledged as one of the most effective methods for maximising nutrient use whilst limiting the environmental impact of agricultural practices. By placing the slurry directly beneath the soil surface, this technique protects fertilisers from wind and sunlight, thereby reducing evaporation losses. Unlike surface spreading equipment, such as splash plates, injection deposits slurry closer to plant roots, enhancing nutrient absorption and promoting more uniform crop growth. Furthermore, by reducing ammonia volatilisation, this method cuts emissions by up to 75%, contributing to more environmentally sound agriculture. This makes slurry injection particularly well-suited to grasslands, where minimal soil disturbance is vital for preserving its structure and fertility. In this context, injection is not just an agronomic solution, but a tool for sustainable farm management.
The SAMSON IDs: an injector at the forefront of innovation
The SAMSON IDs is the culmination of years of research and development, aiming to create equipment that marries precision, performance, and durability. It is designed to inject slurry into both grasslands and growing crops, particularly on sandy and semi-clay soils, and features advanced engineering. One of its key innovations is the hydraulic system for individual depth regulation, guaranteeing consistent slurry placement, even on uneven terrain. Every pair of discs operates independently, ensuring consistent injection across the entire 8 metre working width. Moreover, the SAMSON IDs features a lightweight chassis that enhances manoeuvrability while reducing fuel consumption, a significant benefit for operators concerned about profitability. Thanks to its 3-point rotating chassis, the IDs allows injection in curves, preventing excess load on the discs and damage to growing crops. With the SAMSON IDs, SAMSON AGRO addresses the demands of modern farms seeking technological solutions that are both high-performing and environmentally sustainable.
Combining technology and performance for lasting results
The SAMSON IDs integrates a series of technical features that make it one of the best performing injectors on the market. With an impressive working width of 8 metres, it ensures extensive coverage for optimum productivity. Its transport width of 2.74 metres allows for effortless road travel between fields, offering greater operational flexibility. Equipped with 32 discs, each with a diameter of 385 mm, this injector ensures a constant working depth, even in challenging soil conditions. The power required for operation ranges from 6 to 8 horsepower per metre, enabling energy-efficient use while maintaining high performance. The SAMSON IDs is also capable of operating at speeds between 5 and 12 km/h, ensuring efficiency in a wide range of conditions. Its working depth, adjustable between 2 and 5 cm, provides precise slurry application tailored to soil requirements. With a maximum pressure of 220 kg per disc, the device ensures optimal penetration into the ground, even in the toughest terrains. In addition, the integrated vertical distributor allows precise dosing of up to 8,000 litres of slurry per minute, ensuring an even application of the fertiliser. Finally, with a weight of 1,850 kg, the SAMSON IDs offers both robustness and lightness, providing enhanced manoeuvrability and reduced wear for lasting performance.
The SAMSON IDs injector is available in an 8-metre version (IDs 8) and is included in the SAMSON price list. You can find out more about the range by contacting your SAMSON distributor.
